School Supplies

School supplies are due the first week of school 

6th Grade Supply List

All students must have: 

  • a combination lock for locker (to be purchased at Thoreau bookstore for $5); key locks are prohibited
  • a Thoreau Agenda Book (to be purchased at Thoreau bookstore for $5)
  • notebook paper and pencils for personal daily use
  • 1 highlighter
  • 1 package colored grading pens
  • 1 hand-held pencil sharpener (must be one that catches shavings)

The following supplies will be turned in to the student's Block 1 teacher at Timber Wolf Training Camp:

  • 2 reams of white copy paper
  • 2 boxes of tissues
  • 1 container Lysol wipes
  • 2 packages of 3x3 Post-it notes
  • 4 glue sticks
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 2 sharpies
  • 1 package colored pencils
  • 1 package of Crayola markers

To bring to Math/Science class:

  • 2 five subject spirals with pocket dividers
  • 1 plain pocket folder with brads and pockets (not plastic)
  • 1 clear protractor
  • 1 box gallon Ziploc bags
  • 1 box quart Ziploc bags
  • Optional: 1 basic four function calculator (Texas Instruments TI-108, Sharp EL233SB, or Casio SL300SV are options around $10)

To bring to Language Arts/Social Studies class:

  • 1 highlighter to be collected by Language Arts teacher
  • 1 package notebook paper to be collected by Language Arts teacher
  • 2 black/blue ink pens, 1 red pen
  • 2 plain pocket folder with brads and pockets (not plastic)
  • 1 composition notebook
  • 2 five subject spirals with pocket dividers

The following book must be purchased as soon as possible! Books may be purchased at local bookstores or ordered online from Amazon or Deep Discount.

  • The Giver, by Lois Lowry, ISBN #0-606-06990-9

If you purchased the 6th Grade Kit, you will only need to purchase the combination lock, Thoreau Agenda Book, two reams of copy paper, and the required book, The Giver.

7th Grade Supply List

Supplies to be turned in to Block 1 core teacher: 

  • 2 reams white copy paper
  • 4 boxes of tissue (1 box to 1st elective)
  • 2 containers Lysol or Clorox antibacterial wipes (not baby wipes)
  • 4 Elmer's glue sticks
  • 24 No. 2 pencils
  • 2 packages of wide-ruled loose-leaf notebook paper
  • 1 pair of adult size scissors
  • Girls: 1 package washable wide markers, 1 black Sharpie
  • Boys: 1 box colored pencils, 1 box gallon size Ziploc bags

Supplies to be turned in to core classes:

  • Science: 1 wide-ruled three-subject spiral (non-perforated pages if possible), 1 purple folder, 4 Elmer's glue sticks, 1 green ink pen (no lime green please)
  • Language Arts: 2 red folders with brads, 1 three-subject spiral, composition book, 5 red ink pens, 1 package of wide-ruled, loose-leaf notebook paper
  • Math: 1 folder, 1 three-subject spiral
  • Geography: 1 yellow folder with brads, 1 three-subject yellow spiral

Supplies for you to keep with you or in locker:

  • Student agenda (purchased at school)
  • Master combination lock
  • Earbuds (for Chromebook)
  • Handheld pencil sharpener (with container to catch shavings)
  • 2 Elmer's glue sticks
  • 2 packages wide-ruled notebook paper
  • No. 2 pencils to use throughout the year

Three books will be required to purchase at the beginning of the school year. Other supplies will be needed for inquiries and projects throughout the year.


If you purchased the 7th Grade Kit, you will only need to purchase two reams of white copy paper, the student agenda, a master combination lock, and earbuds.

8th Grade Supply List

Language Arts/Social Studies:

  • 4 three-subject spiral notebooks, 8 1/2 x 11 or larger, college-ruled
  • 1 two-inch binder
  • 4 pocket folders
  • 2 composition notebooks
  • 1 package dividers

Math/Science:

  • 4 three-subject spiral notebooks, 8 1/2 x 11 or larger, college-ruled

  • 1 package graph paper

  • Girls: 1 package sandwich baggies
  • Boys: 1 package small (5oz) cups

If you purchased the 8th Grade Kit, you will only need to purchase two reams of white copy paper, and one package of plastic straws (girls) or one package of small cups (boys).
