Tulsa Public Schools is encouraging multilingual students to apply for recognition of their proficiency in multiple languages by graduating with the district’s Seal of Biliteracy. Students can apply online at www.tulsaschools.org/sealofbiliteracy. The student application deadline is Friday, October 3.

Since 2018, Tulsa Public Schools has awarded 680 Seals of Biliteracy - making it the district in Oklahoma with the most Seals of Biliteracy awarded. 2023-24 was the first school year when Tulsa Public Schools awarded Seals of Biliteracy to sophomores, juniors, and seniors (previously only senior-year students were eligible). In the seventh year of the program, students earned seals in Spanish, French, Russian, and – for the first time – Dari.

Students who successfully earn the Seal of Biliteracy not only increase in global cultural competence but also gain strong language skills that will help them be successful in college, careers, and life.

Eligible students must demonstrate proficiency in more than one language. Students can visit www.tulsaschools.org/sealofbiliteracy to apply.
