Audrey Doctor graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a master's degree in Bilingual Education. She also earned a master's degree from Oral Roberts University in Education Administration. In 1998, she joined the Thoreau staff as the Spanish teacher and the assistant principal before becoming the principal on 2016.
I am a proud product of TPS. I went to Disney Elementary, Foster Middle School, and East Central High School. I began my teaching career in 2006 as an English teacher at my alma mater East Central. I taught every grade level, pre-AP, and AP classes in my 10 years as a teacher there. In 2012, I was named East Central's Teacher of the Year and in 2014 I became the English Department Chairman. I was awarded a Golden Apple Award in 2015 from Fox 23 News. In 2008, I took over as the boys’ soccer coach where I had a record of 102-26 in my 8 years as head coach. I was named the All-State coach in 2012. In 2016, I became the assistant principal at Thoreau Demonstration Academy where I have continued to grow as an educator and a leader.
