  • Earned Income Tax Credit
    • Get your taxes prepared free of charge at CAP and see if you are eligible for a tax credit which could increase your refund by as much as $4,500 just because you are working.

  • Early Childhood Education
    • Enroll your children ages six weeks to 4 years in Head Start or Early Head Start to give them a quality early education from the very beginning.  And it’s free!

  • Oklahoma Higher Learning Access Program
    • If you have a child in 8th, 9th or 10th grade he or she may be eligible to receive free college tuition to an Oklahoma College or University based on household income qualification.

  • First Time Homebuyers’ Assistance
    • Attend home buying education seminars and, if your household income qualifies, you could be eligible for up to $3,500 in down payment and closing cost assistance.

  • Child Care Assistance
    • You could qualify for assistance with your day care costs.  If you have children between the ages of 0 and 12 in a licensed day care you may be eligible to have all or part of your bill paid for. 

  • Women, Infants & Children (WIC)
    • WIC is a program that can help you with the cost of nutritious food for you and your baby.  The program also teaches you about nutrition and can help you find health care and social services.  This program is only for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have recently given birth and kids up to 5 years old.

  • SoonerCare
    • State-run health insurance for children and/or adults.

  • Children and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
    • Allows your children to receive free or reduced cost meals and snacks while at day care.  This program also gives free or reduced price meals and snacks to adults who are enrolled in day care facilities.

  • Summer Food Service Program
    • Some schools offer summer programs with fun activities along with free or reduced price meals and snacks for children.

  • Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
    • See if you qualify for temporary financial assistance to help you out during tough times.

  • Food Stamps
    • Food Stamps provide your family extra money each month to help purchase nutritious food. 

  • LIHEAP (emergency utility assistance)
    • Depending on income, some families and individuals qualify to receive help paying high utility bills.     

  • Medicaid for the aged, blind and disabled
    • Those who are not eligible for SoonerCare due to Age or Disability may be eligible for Medicaid.

 Tulsa Public Schools (TPS) is working with Community Action Project (CAP) to make sure all families are aware of the benefit programs they may be eligible for. Tulsa Public Schools (TPS) and Community Action Project (CAP) will assist you in applying for benefits you may qualify for.  In order to begin this process, you must complete the two (2) forms attached. This information will not be used to track your legal status or any other areas.

If you need help in completing the forms, contact your School Nurse or Health Assistant.

If you do not want to participate, please let your School Nurse or Health Assistant know.

PLEASE RETURN ALL FORMS, WHETHER YOU ARE PARTICIPATING OR NOT, TO YOUR SCHOOL HEALTH CLINIC.
